ECG PTSA Capital Campaign

The ECG PTSA launched the Capital Campaign during the 2022-23 school year. So far we have raised just over $145,000! However, to achieve our goal of $400,000, we need your support.

 

Our classrooms are in dire need of major repairs. Since our school is located on the campus of Guilford College, it is not eligible to receive funding from the GCS bond for renovations. Therefore, the $400,000 we need to raise for renovations of our modular buildings must be raised privately.

 

This summer we began work on the trailers, where we replaced the roof on one trailer and repaired the roof on the other trailer. The siding was replaced on both trailers as well as the ramps leading to both buildings. Unfortunately, once the builders started taking apart the ramps and taking off the old siding, extensive damage was discovered that was not part of our budget. Much of the interior framing of the trailers rotted and had to be replaced.

 

We prioritized repairs into three phases: Phase 1 is essentially complete, with roofs replaced to prevent future water damage, siding replaced because of previous water damage, and ramps completely redone due to extensive rot. Now that the exteriors of the buildings are sealed and secure from water intrusion, it’s time to begin phase 2 interior upgrades. These include bringing restrooms up to code, electrical upgrades in the classrooms, adding water filling stations, replacing carpet and flooring, and upgrading insufficient lighting.

 

However, in order to begin Phase 2, we need to raise more funds and to do that, we need support from our ECG community. We have begun reaching out to alumni and community foundations, as well as the amazing parents and families in our community.
